Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
2:03 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, South CR 800W, near West SR 25, Mentone. Drivers: Amber A. Diehl, 34, South CR 800W, Mentone; and Tammy L. Tilton, 35, Skylane Drive G3, Plymouth. Diehl’s vehicle was behind Tilton’s when Tilton stopped at a stop sign. Diehl’s vehicle slid on loose gravel, causing her to rear-end Tilton’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
6:28 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, East US 30, east of South CR 450E, Warsaw. Drivers: unoccupied; Justin M. Penninger, 35, East US 30 102, Pierceton; and Sean M. Alderfer, 33, East James Way Court, Warsaw. A vehicle registered to Joseph C. Arquette, Warren, was involved in a prior accident and had come to rest in the eastbound lanes of US 30. Arquette had exited the vehicle prior to this collision. Penninger was traveling east on US 30 when he struck Arquette’s vehicle. This caused Penninger’s vehicle to travel to the right, striking Alderfer’s vehicle. Penninger was taken to Parkview Hospital in a private vehicle for a head abrasion. Damage up to $50,000.
6:28 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, East US 30, east of South CR 450E, Warsaw. Drivers: Joseph C. Arquette, 26, West CR 800S, Warren; and Michael D. Mort, 58, South CR 400W, Warsaw. Arquette was traveling west on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway, causing his vehicle to swerve and leave the roadway. Arquette’s vehicle continued across the median, where it was struck by Mort’s vehicle. Both Arquette and Mort were taken to Parkview Hospital for complaints of general pain from the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
7:09 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, East SR 14, east of South County Farm Road, Silver Lake. Driver: Gerry S. Burkett, 58, Old US Highway 31 North, Rochester. Burkett was traveling west on SR 14 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
6:11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, East CR 1200S, east of South CR 100E, Silver Lake. Driver: Noah A. Callaway, 16, East CR 1200S, Silver Lake. Callaway was traveling east on CR 1200S when his vehicle lost traction and began to spin. This caused his vehicle to flip onto its top and go into a ravine. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
6:09 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, North CR 150W, north of West CR 400N, Warsaw. Driver: Marjorie A. Osborn, 42, Ridge Road, Rochester. Osborn was traveling north on North CR 150W when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
1:27 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, West US 30, south of North CR 800W, Warsaw. Drivers: Jonathan M. Mohn, 54, South Franklin Road, Indianapolis; and Thomas A. Clemens, 58, South Ferguson Road, Warsaw. Mohn was traveling south on North CR 800W when he entered the eastbound lanes of West US 30. As he did so, he struck Clemens’ vehicle. Clemens complained of head and neck pain but refused medical attention. A passenger in Clemens’ vehicle, Shanda L. Sanchez, 55, Warsaw, sustained a cut on her left hand but refused medical attention. Damage up to $25,000.
4:47 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, North SR 19, north of West CR 500N, Etna Green. Driver: Joshua L. Banghart, 40, North Oak Street, Mentone. Banghart was traveling north on SR 19 when deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, South Huntington Street, north of East Baltimore Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Dustin J. Cloud, 30, South Kinder Drive, Syracuse; and Maynard J. Miller, 44, SR 15, New Paris. Cloud was waiting on a train when his vehicle rear-ended Miller’s. Damage up to $5,000.
12:23 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, North Huntington Street and East Caroll Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Hanna J. Angel, 21, North 3rd Trail, North Webster; and Tina K. Lannen, 41, Cadillac Street, Ligonier. Angel was traveling north on North Huntington Street when she struck Lannen’s vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, West CR 250N, east of North SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Matthew W. Brubaker, 44, East Elm Street, Pierceton; and Karen L. Harding, 67, South CR 550W, Warsaw. Brubaker was traveling east on West CR 250N when he began to turn to cross the left turn lane. As he did so, he struck Harding’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
2:12 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, Jefferson Street, west of Argonne Road, Warsaw. Driver: Bruce D. Reinhart, 56, South Bunting Lane, Warsaw. The modified bed of Reinhart’s vehicle was extended when it struck a power line on Jefferson Street. Nipsco cut the wire and removed it from the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
1:14 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, Buffalo Street, north of Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Tommy D. Burkett, 54, Eisenhower Parkway, Warsaw; and Dyson M. Biltz, 21, South CR 1600E, Silver Lake. Burkett was traveling south on Buffalo Street when he rear-ended Biltz’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
12:35 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2501 Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Driver: Karen L. Dewitt, 60, West Huntington Street, North Webster. Dewitt was pulling her vehicle into a parking space when she struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle owned by Cheryl Macintosh. Damage up to $10,000.
