Shumpert, Trojan Duo Make HNAC All-Conference
WINAMAC – Triton had three of its football players make the list as All-Conference for the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.
The Trojans, which finished 1-6 in conference play, had D’Angelo Shumpert make All-HNAC. Teammates Jeremiah Farrell and Lucas Cabrera were both chosen as Honorable Mention All-HNAC.
Champion Pioneer (7-0) led the way in the voting, seeing eight players make the All-Conference slate in Miles VonTobel, Derek LeGrand, Ezra Lewellen, Addai Lewellen, Logan Smith, Jonathan Beckley, Keaton Schroder and Diego Badallo. Brenton Mersch was named Honorable Mention for the Panthers.
Knox (6-1) had Martin Napierkowski, Dalton Kohn, Jame Trujillo, Gabe Lovins, Cade Short, Kole McIntire and Baxton Geller all named All-Conference and Zach Rose was Honorable Mention.
Rounding out the All-Conference HNAC selections were Culver’s Hunter Lautt, Zac Ditmire, Jalen King and Jacob Fisher; LaVille’s Leyton Czamecki, Ayden Doyle, Andrew Dill, Kolby Watts, Robby Pope and Evan Bettcher; North Judson’s Nolan Shidler, Dylan Marin and Eli Blount; and Winamac’s Gabe Townsend, Brayden Lynch and Trent Fox.
Honorable Mentions went to Hunter Schanlaub and Sam Smith of Caston, Drake Gross of Culver, Jake Martin of LaVille, Cheyenne Allen, Manny Barnes and Keaton Redlin of North Judson, and Russell Compton of Winamac.
Final standings for the season were Pioneer (7-0), Knox (6-1), LaVille (5-2), North Judson (4-3), Culver (3-4), Winamac (2-5), Triton (1-6), Caston (0-7).
