McKenna Road Death Ruled Accidental By Coroner
WARSAW — The death of a 20-year-old Indianapolis man whose body was found along McKenna Road in September has been ruled as accidental.
The body of Ty Sawyer Lee Brown was found along the road at about 5 a.m. Sept. 2. He appeared to have been hit by a vehicle.
But Kosciusko County Coroner Tony Ciriello ruled that Brown died due to a subdural hematoma – bleeding on the brain – after apparently falling and striking his head.
Toxicology results indicated Brown had a blood alcohol level of 0.21.
Ciriello said Brown was likely struck by a vehicle after he had fallen.
Investigators sought the public’s help in trying to identify what exactly happened. Within days, Crime Stoppers of Kosciusko County offered up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest or indictment.
Brown’s body was found along the north side of the roadway, just west of EMS B32 Lane, near North Webster.
Brown was seen on video surveillance walking away from the Barbee Landing alone at approximately 3:15 a.m. and was also seen walking alone six minutes later in the area of the Barbee Hotel.
Police are continuing to look into the circumstances.
