Adkins Swinging For St. Francis
SYRACUSE – Logan Adkins is hoping for a big senior season, and that started Friday with his college signing ceremony. The Wawasee baseball product has chosen St. Francis University to continue his academic and baseball careers.
The utility player for coach Brent Doty’s team had a solid junior season, batting .269 in 19 game appearances. Adkins had three doubles, six RBI and five runs scored among 14 hits in his offensive output in 2019. Adkins also was 3-3 in stolen base attempts.
Adkins was a regular part of a Wawasee team on the rise, going 15-11 and making the sectional semi-finals.
Adkins carries a 3.63 GPA and ranks 31st in the current senior class rankings. He was a scholar athlete in each of his first three years at Wawasee and was the 2018 Wawasee JV Player of the Year.
The St. Francis baseball team compiled a 13-40 record in 2019, 7-20 in the Crossroads League. Coach Dustin Butcher heads into his first season with the Cougars. Adkins looks to study business administration at St. Francis.
Adkins noted on his choice of St. Francis, “Great business program. Close to home. The USF coaches are down to earth and very nice.”
