WCHS Announces Six Holiday Events
WARSAW — Warsaw Community High School students are holding several holiday events this December.
Orchestra Holiday Concert
The Warsaw Community Schools orchestra program will hold their Orchestra Holiday Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the WCHS Performing Arts Center.
The concert will feature sixth-grade, sinfonia, philharmonic, mid-level Lakeview and Edgewood orchestras. There will be a variety of holiday music rewritten in unique styles and a few classics as well. The groups are under the direction of Angela Dieleman.
There is no admission charge for the concert, and members of the community are welcome to attend. Freewill donations will be accepted for the orchestra programs.
December Holiday Concert
The WCHS Choral Department will present their December holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, in the WCHS Performing Arts Center.
The concert will feature five of the high school’s choirs performing a wide variety of seasonal favorites. The Select Chorale and Select Women will be featured. The concert will close with the traditional singing of Silent Night along with sign language.
The concert is free of charge. Freewill donations will be accepted for the department. The groups are under the direction of Cassandra Petrie and accompanied by Kathy Kolbe.
Chorale Department Joint Holiday Concert
The WCHS Choral Department, in combination with Lakeview Middle School and Edgewood Middle School choirs, will present their December holiday concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the WCHS Performing Arts Center.
The concert will feature WCHS Select Chorale and Select Women’s Choir, and choirs from Edgewood and Lakeview Middle Schools performing a wide variety of seasonal favorites.
The concert is free of charge. Freewill donations will be accepted. These ensembles are under the direction of Cassandra Petrie, Dan Beam and Jennifer Cooksey.
Holiday Gala
The WCHS Performing Arts Department will present their annual holiday gala at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, in the Warsaw Performing Arts Center.
The gala will feature the band, choir, dance, orchestra and theatre programs performing seasonal favorites.
Admission is $10 per person. To purchase tickets, please contact the Warsaw PAC box office at (574) 371-5040 or visit the website at www.warsawpac.org. As attendees enter the Pac, they will be greeted with carols performed by various ensembles before the show.
“A Christmas Celebration”
The WCHS band program will hold “A Christmas Celebration” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the WCHS Performing Arts Center.
Featuring the WCHS Wind Symphony and Concert Band, this musical performance of the season offers something for everyone.
Admission is free. The groups are under the direction of Mark Ziegler and Kyle Travis.
Winter Dance Concert
The WCHS Dance Department will present their Winter Dance Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the WCHS Performing Arts Center.
Celebrate the holidays with friends and family as WCHS dance classes demonstrate a variety of styles and techniques, including vaudeville jazz and modern dance.
Tickets are $6 for adults and students. Children 5 and under are free. Seating is general admission. All proceeds go directly back to the dance program for the purchase of costumes and shoes for future dance students.
