Etna Green Man Faces Child Molestation Charges
WARSAW — An Etna Green man faces two felony charges of child molestation.
Joseph Delbert Doty, 34, 9671 West CR 300N, Etna Green, was arrested on a warrant from Kosciusko County and faces two charges of child molestation, one being a level 1 felony and the other, a level 3 felony.
On Oct. 12, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office received reports of alleged molestation by Doty, according to an affidavit of probable cause. According to the affidavit, the individual who contacted law enforcement said the information was revealed during a family discussion about homosexuality.
An officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Indiana Department of Child Services and initiated a follow-up investigation.
On Oct. 17, a caseworker from the Indiana Department of Child Services conducted a recorded interview with the victim at the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, the affidavit said.
During the interview, the victim said he sometimes stayed at Doty’s house. He said an unnamed person would also stay at Doty’s house, but didn’t any longer because that person said they didn’t want the same thing to happen to him that happened to the victim.
During the same forensic interview, the caseworker discovered that on Sept. 27, while in Doty’s bed, Doty allegedly performed oral sex on the victim. Similar instances occurred on more than one occasion, the victim said. However, he said he was unsure of how many times it happened.
During one of the occasions, the victim said the other person observed Doty molest the victim, said the affidavit.
Court paperwork did not indicate the age of the minors.
On Dec. 19, Doty was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail with a bond of $75,250 surety and cash. A no-contact order was issued in this case, according to court paperwork.
