Warriors Win NLC Dual At Concord
ELKHART — Wawasee’s wrestling team collected a big, Northern Lakes Conference road win at Concord to the tune of a 43-30 margin Thursday night.
The Warriors slipped behind by three points after the first three matches before Logan Baugh’s second-period pinfall of Concord’s Logan Sunday at 170 pounds them ahead, 12-9. Fernando Hernandez followed with a 16-3 major decision over Logan Kielder at 182, Austin LaJoice pinned Joey Garcia early in the second period, and Quintin Spitzmacher followed suit with a second-period fall of Drew Smeltzer at 220.
Keyan Herbst topped Ray Garay in a 10-7 decision at 120 to push the margin to 37-24. Tim Shortt pinned Cameren Galvin in the second period of 145-pound action to start the night. Hunter Miller and Landon Dilley earned forfeit wins at 113 and 132.
Wawasee improves to 12-1 overall with a 3-1 NLC mark. The Warriors will host their December Duals Saturday.
