Steel Union Ready To Distribute Meals To Hundreds On Christmas Eve Morning
WARSAW – A local union will provide several hundred meals for pickup on Christmas eve morning, Dec. 24, to anyone who is in need.
Members of United Steelworkers Local 809 will begin dispersing meals at 8 a.m. Tuesday, at the union hall at 420 Little League Drive, Warsaw.
Members will be handing out the meals to anyone who is in need. There are no restrictions.
The meals include a ham, 10lb bag of potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans and pudding.
The items are provided for the family to prepare the meal in their own home with the hope that anyone who is struggling or needing a little help this year would come by and pick up a meal.
Tuesday’s distribution will be the 11th annual Christmas dinner giveaway for the union. The members of the Local 809 have donated money from their own pockets each year to make this a success.
Items for the meals come from Owens Supermarket.
One meal per family is permitted.
