Woman Arrested For Burglarizing Meijer On Christmas Day
WARSAW — A Bristol woman was recently arrested after forcibly entering Meijer when the store was closed on Christmas Day.
Brittany Starr Hanners, 29, 50778 Cornwall Road, Bristol, is charged with burglary, a level 5 felony; and theft, a class A misdemeanor.
On Dec. 25, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department went to Meijer in regards to a burglary report. The officer was informed that Meijer was closed in observance of Christmas and a security officer saw a woman, identified as Hanners, forcibly enter the business.
According to court documents, the security officer attempted to stop her and contacted police when she entered the store. Hanners went through two different sets of closed and secured doors to make entry. She used a piece of a pallet board to make entry into Meijer.
Officers entered Meijer and located Hanners, who was holding a plastic bag and a black drawstring bag. The plastic bag contained rubber gloves and safety goggles that were taken from Meijer’s cleaning supply room. Hanners admitted she located the gloves and took them for her own use.
Hanners has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Jan. 9, in Kosciusko County Superior 3 Court.
