Republicans To Hold Caucus For Jackson Township Vacancy
SIDNEY — Kosciusko County Republican Party Chairman Mike Ragan announced plans for a caucus to fill a vacancy in Jackson Township.
Marsha Dierks resigned effective Wednesday as a Jackson Township Advisory Board member due to her moving out of the township, said a news release from the Kosciusko County Republican Party.
Dierks was elected Nov. 6, 2018, for a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2019. Her term would have expired Dec. 31, 2022.
The caucus will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, in the town office at the Sidney Fire Station, 103 East Center Street, Sidney, to fill the vacancy. Jackson 1 Precinct Committeeman Tony Ciriello and Jackson 2 Precinct Committeeman Josh Spangle will be the voting members of the caucus.
The election will be done by secret ballot.
Declarations of candidacy are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 121 North Lake Street, Warsaw, Indiana, and must be filed with the Chairman no later than 72 hours before the caucus.
Eligible candidates will be given up to three minutes to address the voting caucus.
