Five Arrested After NET 43 Tip, Investigation By Claypool PD
Editor’s Note: The following article has been edited to clarify the involvement of the Claypool Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office. The Claypool Police Department conducted the investigation, based on a tip provided by NET 43.
CLAYPOOL — Five people were arrested last month following a NET 43 tip that led to the discovery of methamphetamine and paraphernalia at a home in Claypool.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Dec 8, NET 43 obtained information from a cell phone that Codie Pierce, 28, no address listed, was dealing methamphetamine.
After further investigation by Claypool Police Department, it was determined that illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia came from a residence in Claypool on Dec. 11 and Dec. 18.
A search warrant was executed by Claypool Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office. The residence is reported as being rented by John H. Parker, 49, 405 S. Graceland Ave., Claypool, and Deborah L. Parker, 50, 405 S. Graceland Ave., Claypool. Five people were found inside the residence, including John Parker, Deborah Parker, Pierce, Jonathan Charles, 36, 602 W. Winona Ave., Warsaw, and Brianne L. Fields, 21, 405 S. Graceland Ave., Claypool,
Police found a black metal box inside the residence that contained a plastic bag with methamphetamine, a syringe, a glass pipe with white residue, a plastic bag containing marijuana, several ziplock plastic bags containing white powder residue, a metal grinder, scales and numerous smoking devices. Police also found identifying information for Fields and Charles in the box.
In the living room, where Pierce had been sitting when officers entered the home, police found a boot containing an eyeglass case with a smoking device inside. The device had white powder residue that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Police also found numerous small bags containing meth residue and a taser. According to court paperwork, Pierce admitted that the taser belonged to him.
In John and Deborah Parker’s bedroom, police found a .38 caliber revolver, more evidence of illegal drug use and a bag that contained psilocybin mushrooms. Deborah Parker allegedly admitted that the mushrooms belonged to her.
Interviews were conducted at the Warsaw Police Department.
All five were booked at the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 19. Pierce was booked on a $400 surety and cash bond; Charles was booked on a $5,250 surety and cash bond; Deborah Parker was booked on a $5,250 surety and cash bond; John Parker was booked on a $5,250 surety and cash bond, and Fields was booked on a $25,250 surety and cash bond.
