Iris E. Nuell
Iris E. Nuell, 92, Warsaw, passed away quietly on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at home after a short illness. She was the daughter of Walter and Ruby (Reed) Seitner.
Born on Oct. 21, 1927, Iris was a 1945 graduate of Mentone High School. She was married to the late Mark Nuell on Dec. 25, 1946, and they made their home in Warsaw. To their union, two children were born – Dee and Joni.
Family meant the world to Iris. She was a proud homemaker with a love for people and helping others. She was known for her compassion and for the zeal with which she lived her life. She was a longtime member of Church of God where she was always willing to help. Iris easily adopted the church family as her own and is lovingly remembered for teaching Sunday School and for helping in the nursery, among many other things.
Iris touched the lives of so many. A list of her closest survivors includes son, Dee Nuell of Warsaw; daughter, Joni (Gary) Kinder-Uptigrove of East Lansing, Mich.; grandson, Jeremy (Jennifer) Kinder of Warsaw; granddaughters: Cathy Savieo of Algonquin, Ill.; and Sherry (Don) Cayhill of Fort Wayne; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Wuchter of Warsaw and many nieces and nephews.
On June 6, 2004, Iris was preceded in passing by her husband, Mark E. Nuell. Also preceding her in passing were brother, Carl Seitner; sister, Sandra Kimes; grandson, Mark T. Nuell and her parents.
The family will welcome visitors at Warsaw Church of God, 1059 Rozella Road, from 10 a.m.-noon, Friday, Jan. 10, when Pastor Tim Kumfer and Pastor Jerry Yoder(ret.) will officiate a funeral which celebrates Iris’ life. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Her Life Celebration® was entrusted to Titus Funeral Home.
