Pier 1 Imports In Warsaw Confirms Plans To Close
WARSAW – The manager for the Pier 1 Imports in Warsaw confirmed Saturday, Jan. 11, that the store will soon close in what would have been the location’s twentieth anniversary.
The company announced earlier this week plans to shutter 450 stores nationwide.
Dwindling sales were blamed for the closures.
The Warsaw store sits on the west end of the Marketplace shopping center near US 30 and Center Street.
The store manager, who declined to give her full name, said it was a sad day as they began telling customers they would be closing.
She said she was unsure when it would close and declined to say how many employees worked there.
The store opened in 2000, she said.
The store has been having a 20-40 percent off sale this week. Signs in the store on Saturday announced all sales would be final and that the store was not accepting checks.
