Carol Ann Beal
Carol Ann Beal, 81, of Syracuse, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at her home. She was born on July 7, 1938, in Bluffton to Alvin & Lola (Brown) Follis.
She graduated valedictorian in 1956 from Ossian High School and in 1959 from Parkview School of Nursing in Fort Wayne with a registered nurse degree. She was married on Aug. 30, 1959, in Uniondale, to John R. Beal, who survives.
She formerly worked at Lutheran Hospital, East Allen County Schools, Lawton Nursing Home, and retired after 10 years from Visiting Nurse Hospice, all in Fort Wayne as a registered nurse. She lived most of her life in Fort Wayne and retired to Fort Myers, Fla., and Syracuse (Dewart Lake) in 1999.
She was a member of Avalon Missionary Church in Fort Wayne, where she sang in the choir and was part of the women’s ministry. She also attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Fort Myers, FL.
She is survived by her husband, John Beal, of Syracuse; two daughters, Julia Beal (Mario Jeter). of Syracuse, and Jennifer (John) Berg, of Fort. Collins, Colo.; a son, Greg (Jennifer) Beal of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, Emily, Max, Mitchell, Ellen, Esther, Oliver, and Amelia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Alvin Elliott Berg, and sister, Bonnie.
Visitation will be from 10 to 12 noon on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Memorial services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Jarboe officiating. A private burial will take place in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian.
