Police with Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:42 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, on Pierceton Road west of South CR 500E, near Pierceton. Driver: Eric Hamman, 43, 1602 S. Saint Andrew Road East, Winona Lake. The driver struck a wild turkey, causing damage to the front left part of the vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
12:32 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, on West CR 600N and North Old Road 15, near Leesburg. Driver: Christopher Hale, 27, 308 S. Main St., Columbia City. Hale was attempting to make a turn at the intersection, but turned too quickly, went off the road and struck railroad tracks, where the vehicle was then stuck. Damage up to $5,000.
5:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, on West SR 25 near South CR 600W., near Palestine. Driver: Dyson Biltz, 21, 1862 S. CR 1600E, Silver Lake. Biltz struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Police with Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in the parking lot of the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center, 610 Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Driver: Michael Ganger, 60, 16901 CR 18, Goshen. Ganger blamed foggy windows when his vehicle struck a light pole. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Police with Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, on East Winona Avenue near South Bronson St., Warsaw. Driver: Suzzette Hernandez, 24, East US 30 Lot 111, Pierceton. A police officer witnessed Hernandez speeding along Winona Avenue when the vehicle struck a guardrail. A traffic stop was conducted and Hernandez was arrested. Damage up to $5,000.
