Lancer Tennis Moves Into NAIA Poll
WINONA LAKE – Grace’s men’s and women’s tennis teams continued to gain national attention, earning a spot in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll.
MEN’S TENNIS
The Lancers are in the “receiving votes” section of the poll. Grace is getting 26 points from the national raters, 32nd-most in the NAIA.
Grace is one of three Crossroads League schools in the poll, joining No. 17 Indiana Wesleyan and No. 21 Marian.
The Lancers finished the fall with a 9-4 record, including 7-2 in the Crossroads League to finish third under head coach Andy Lewis.
Max Rozas enjoyed a memorable fall. The All-League performer won the ITA Regional Championship and competed at the national ITA Cup in Rome, Ga. As a result, Rozas finished the fall ranked No. 8 in the Oracle/ITA NAIA singles’ rankings.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Grace’s women’s tennis team garnered national attention when it landed in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll.
The Lady Lancers are receiving votes in the poll for the first time in recent memory. Grace joins No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan and No. 25 Marian in the NAIA poll from the Crossroads League.
The Lady Lancers enjoyed a memorable fall season. Grace finished the fall 11-3, ranking second in team history for total wins and winning percentage.
Marcus Moore was named the Crossroads League Coach of the Year, and Emily Mast, Carrie Copeland and Dayana Ortega were All-League honorees for the Lady Lancers.
