Lawrence ‘Larry’ Sims
Lawrence “Larry” Craig Sims passed away at 11:25 a.m., Feb. 11, 2020, at his residence. One of ten children, Larry was born Sept. 16, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Penn. to George and Ethel (Kenney) Sims.
Larry graduated from Shade High School in 1968, in Cairnbrook, Penn. After high school, Larry attended East Tennessee State University and then later Ivy Tech. Larry received a certificate for HVAC from Ivy Tech. He was a certified welder and worked on HVACs for over 20 years. For three years, Larry built aircrafts for Boeing. At the age of 46, he had a massive heart attack, which left him on disability after. He always enjoyed helping others with their mechanical needs, and doing general handyman things to help those around him. Larry relished his time fishing and watching Big Bang Theory with his dog Mousey.
The memory of Larry will be forever cherished by his companion, Pamela Rhoades, North Manchester; four brothers, Kenneth Sims, John Sims, David Sims, and Gregory Sims; three sisters, Elaine Sims, Carolyn Levine, Lillian Feathers; and one niece Renee Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother J.D. Sims, and one sister, Evelyn Louise Griffin.
There will be no services at this time.
