Man Faces Escape Charge After Violating Community Corrections Policy
WARSAW — A Warsaw man faces an escape charge after allegedly leaving the state while enrolled in Community Corrections.
Joseph Michael Jarvis, 30, 900 North Park Avenue, Warsaw, was charged with escape, a level 6 felony.
On July 1, 2019, Jarvis was sentenced to Noble County Community Corrections for the crimes of burglary and criminal mischief, said the affidavit of probable cause. He was transferred to Kosciusko County Community Corrections on Aug. 12, 2019.
According to the affidavit, Jarvis violated the terms established with Kosciusko County Community Corrections. Jarvis allegedly left the State of Indiana on four separate occasions: Nov. 1, 2019; Nov. 4, 2019; Nov. 7, 2019; and Nov. 13, 2019.
Each time Jarvis drove to Niles, Mich., said the affidavit. By doing so, he violated a home detention order and committed the crime of escape, according to court paperwork.
On Feb. 20, Jarvis was booked for escape in the Kosciusko County Jail without bond.
