Info Sought After Dog Found Tied To Shelter Doors Overnight
WARSAW — The Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County is asking for help in identifying two men who allegedly tied a dog to the shelter doors at 9:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24.
According to an AWL Facebook post, when staff arrived at 6 a.m. Tuesday, they were unable to enter the door of the building because the dog was frightened and frantic.
The Facebook post said that AWL staff intends to seek criminal charges, noting that it is a Class A misdemeanor in Indiana to abandon an animal. The AWL requests that anyone wanting to surrender a pet after hours should contact local law enforcement or reach out to a rescue or foster.
