WARSAW — A pursuit of a stolen vehicle from South Dakota originated in Elkhart County late Friday night and came southbound into Kosciusko County on State Road 15 at about 12:05 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29.
Warsaw Police officers assisted other agencies in the pursuit and performed a rolling roadblock in the area of U.S. 30 and State Road 15 (Detroit St.) to stop the fleeing vehicle, a gold 1999 Ford F150. Stop sticks were used successfully in the Leesburg area.
In the process of the rolling roadblock, two Warsaw Police vehicles sustained damage. The roadblock did result in successfully stopping the suspect driver, who was operating the stolen vehicle at extreme speeds and driving dangerously, said Det./Sgt. Brad Keller, public information officer for the Warsaw Police Department.
A firearm was also located inside the stolen vehicle. Keller reported there were no injuries involved in the pursuit.
One suspect was taken into custody by Elkhart County authorities. Charges in Kosciusko County are pending completion of the investigation.
