Winona Lake Man Arrested For Sexual Misconduct With Minor
WINONA LAKE — A Winona Lake man was recently arrested after inappropriately touching a child.
Rafael Meyo Rojas, 26, 1202 Wooster Road Lot 52, Winona Lake, is charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, a level 5 felony. As defined in Indiana Code 35-31.5-2-221.5, sexual misconduct with a minor is when a person at least 18 years of age performs or submits to sexual intercourse or other sexual conduct with a child who is at least 14 years of age but less than 16 years of age.
On Dec. 26, 2019, Winona Lake Police received a report of sexual misconduct with a minor. A WLPD officer interviewed the child, who said they were inappropriately touched by Rojas on Dec. 25, 2019. According to court documents, the child also said Rojas got on top of them, took off articles of their clothing and started inappropriately touching them. The child said Rojas attempted to pull their pants off but they were able to stop them.
Rojas was interviewed by the officer on Dec. 26, 2019. He admitted to inappropriately touching the child.
He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 24, 2020, with an $11,000 surety and cash bond.
