Coronavirus Case Confirmed In Noble County, Congressman Says
FORT WAYNE – Rep. Jim Banks released the following statement about a new case of coronavirus in Noble County.
“Our office has become aware that an individual at Parkview Noble Hospital has been diagnosed with COVID-19,” said Banks. “We’ve also learned that the East Noble School Corporation learned of the development and notified families and staff this morning that the infected individual does not have school-age children.”
Noble County is adjacent to the northeast corner of Kosciusko County.
Banks continued, “As such, my office reached out to Parkview Health, the Noble County Health Department and East Noble School Corporation. We’ve requested regular updates on the new coronavirus case and offered any assistance our office can provide.”
Also on Monday, in a letter to parents, West Noble School Corporation mentioned the Noble County case. The district said that the state department of health has advised that there is no immediate need to close school or change programming.
This appears to be the first confirmed case in northern Indiana. Two other cases in central Indiana have been confirmed.
Banks is providing information about the virus on his website, banks.house.gov/covid-19/. Details will be updated regularly to reflect the latest information, according to his office.
