Two Warsaw Students Place Third In National Video Production Contest
WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools congratulates Warsaw Area Career Center broadcasting students Kelsey Nethercutt and Kendyl Silveus.
Their video, titled “CTE Chess Champ!” won them both third place in the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) PSA contest, where students produce videos promoting Career and Technical Education.
This year’s theme was “Victory in CTE.” As a result of their third place finish, Mrs. Angela Hopper’s Television Production II class will be awarded a class pizza party and $150.
Nethercutt will graduate from WCHS in 2020. She plans to attend Ball State majoring in telecommunications. She was inspired to pursue this career after experiencing school field trips to local television stations. Silveus is a WCHS junior with a goal to attend Columbia and study film. Her brother, Lincoln, was featured in their award-winning video.
