Here’s A List Of Virus-Related Cancellations, Updates

WARSAW — The following organizations in Kosciusko County and surrounding areas announced event cancellations as a result of concerns over coronavirus:
The Lerner Theatre
All events for the month of March at The Lerner Theatre have been postponed, including the Crystal Ballroom. Premier Arts will advise on student lessons and audition schedules.
The Price is Right event will be rescheduled for a later date and The Lerner is working with the promoter of the show to reschedule. Communications to ticket buyers for the Price is Right will be forthcoming.
Ticket holders for the remaining shows in March will receive communications for those dates in the near future.
The box office will be operating through phone orders and web sales only. There will be no in-person ticket sales through the month of March, effective immediately.
ISSMA
The Indiana State School Music Association is scheduled to sponsor student music festivals in the next few weeks with over 35,000 students from over 300 schools participating at more than 30 different school facilities throughout the state.
After consultation with the Indiana State Department of Health, it has been decided by the ISSMA Executive Committee that to help protect students, schools and communities from the spread of coronavirus, all ISSMA sponsored music events will be cancelled through April 11. This would include all junior/middle/elementary concert organization festivals and the ISSMA State Show Choir and Jazz Finals.
In keeping with the ISSMA mission to provide educationally evaluated music performance opportunities, a process is being developed to allow directors of registered junior/middle/elementary ensembles to submit video recordings for evaluation.
Warsaw Education Foundation Community Quiz Bowl
The 2020 Community Quiz Bowl scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, has been postponed due to the concerns surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Warsaw Education Foundation Board of Directors made the decision March 12 to postpone for now. The board plans to re-evaluate the situation after Warsaw Community Schools’ spring break and announce a rescheduled date.
Purdue Extension
Purdue University has placed restrictions on all Purdue-affiliated events from March 16 to April 30. Purdue Extension programs (Extension Homemakers, Master Gardeners, 4-H, etc.) are included in the restrictions placed on events and travel. All events hosted by Purdue involving gatherings of 50 or more attendees will be either postponed, cancelled or delivered by alternate means.
Lakeland Christian Academy
Lakeland Christan Academy canceled its Music in Our Schools Concert for Thursday, March 12 and Italian Night on Saturday, March 14, according to the school’s Facebook page.
Ivy Tech Community College
Ivy Tech Community College is delaying the start of all courses until March 23. The College plans to deliver courses virtually or through other alternate delivery through April 5. Students should check IvyLearn leading up to March 23 for instructions on their courses. The College will make a decision on March 30 about the need for continued virtual and alternate delivery of classes.
Ivy Tech campuses and sites will remain open to provide student and business office assistance including the ability for students to meet with advisors, admissions and financial aid, use computers, and access to faculty as needed. Accommodations will be made for labs, clinicals and some technology courses to meet in groups of 10 or less if social distancing can be assured. Information regarding such meetings will be provided to students from their faculty. Faculty and staff should plan to continue their work on campus/site.
Warsaw Schools
Warsaw Community Schools’ kindergarten roundup, scheduled for Thursday, March 12, has been canceled. An update on plans for a roundup will be shared by the school digitally, the school system said in a news release.
Milford Kiwanis
The Milford Kiwanis pancake and sausage breakfast scheduled for Saturday, March 14, at the Milford Community Building, has been canceled.
Indiana Department of Corrections
Indiana Department of Corrections has expanded its ban on visitations at all of its facilities. The change in policy is expected to continue for two weeks.
Real Services
All support group meetings held in affiliation with Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana will be canceled for the month of March.
Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament
The Big Ten Conference announced that it will be canceling the remainder of the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, effective immediately.
Chautauqua-Wawasee
Chautauqua-Wawasee has rescheduled the Purdue University Varsity Glee Club’s performance to Friday, Oct. 23. The group announce its postponement Wednesday. The concert will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Oakwood Resort Event Center. Visit chqw.org for ticket information or Chautauqua- Wawasee’s Facebook page.
