Updates On Baby Wipes Concern, New Relief Fund and SWCD
Here are some more updates related to the virus crisis:
Utilities
WARSAW – Don’t flush the wipes! That’s the warning from Warsaw and Winona Lake officials in light of people who are using more disinfectant “baby wipes” to clean surfaces and hands during the coronavirus crisis. Despite labels that say the wipes can be flushed, officials say those and other items clog lines and damage infrastructure.
SWCD
The Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District board (SWCD) has decided that it is in the best interest of public safety to cancel events in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
- The annual Tree Sale program is being cancelled for 2020. For those who have already placed orders, a refund will be sent back to you. We appreciate the support of the community for this program and we expect to offer this service again next spring.
- The monthly April board meeting, set for April 7 has also been cancelled.
- The spring Food Plot Seed program, scheduled for May, is also uncertain at this point, as the SWCD is not sure it will be able to pick up or disseminate seed.
Watch for updates on the SWCD Facebook page or website.
