Two Men Accused Of Dealing Morphine Pills
WARSAW — Two Whitley County men face charges of drug-dealing after two alleged incidents in one day.
In the first case, Donald Alan Boseker, 57, 402 W. Pleasant St., Churubusco, is charged with dealing in a narcotic drug, a level 2 felony; and possession of a narcotic drug, a level 4 felony. Boseker is charged with dealing in a narcotic drug, a level 5 felony, in the second case.
In the first case, Shawn Richard Daniels, 37, 307 N. Walnut St., Columbia City, is charged with dealing in a narcotic drug, a level 2 felony; possession of a narcotic drug, a level 4 felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony. Daniels is also charged with dealing in a narcotic drug, a level 5 felony, in the second case.
On Dec. 3, 2019, a NET43 officer made a controlled purchase morphine pills, a narcotic drug, from Daniels. According to court documents, the NET43 officer arrived at the established location and both Daniels and Boseker were at the scene.
The officer provided Daniels with NET43-documented funds in exchange for five pills that were later confirmed to contain morphine.
Additional charges were added that same day after an Indiana State Police officer traveling on SR 13 in North Webster noticed a vehicle with an improperly functioning tail-light. The officer pulled the vehicle over and identified the driver as Boseker and one of the passengers as Daniels. Daniels told the officer that he had active arrest warrants.
The officer then detained Daniels and spoke with Boseker, who gave permission for the officer to search the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, the officer found more than 11 grams of morphine pills in a container. The ISP officer also discovered that Boseker was in possession of the NET43-documented funds that were provided to Daniels during the controlled purchase of morphine.
Daniels told the police that the pills belonged to Boseker but that he was helping him sell the pills. After the traffic stop, Boseker admitted that he was selling the morphine pills that were located in the vehicle.
Boseker was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on March 23, 2020, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
Daniels has an initial hearing at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, March 26.
