Cecil O. ‘Bill’ Spencer
Cecil O. “Bill” Spencer, 78, of Bremen, passed away at 3:02 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2020, in Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
Cecil was born on Aug. 8, 1941, the son of the late Luther and Viola Spencer. On May 9, 1959, he married Wilma Christeen Reynolds.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Christeen; four children, Loyd “Cecil” (Ruth) Spencer of Plymouth, Debra Liska of Bremen, Thomas “Eugene” Spencer of Bremen and Shelley Connon of Bremen; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Andy, Caitlin, Tim, Chrissy, Alex, Johnny, Michael, and Hannah; and four great grandchildren, Keagan, Corbin, Baby Johnny and Achileus. He is also survived by three sisters, Opal Smith of Battle Creek, Mich., Maxine Trent of Jackson, Ky. and Faye (Tony) Woods of Lexington, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
Bill worked for Fidler Concrete for 31 years before his retirement in 2003. He was a generous man who loved his family. He also enjoyed snow plowing, tinkering on old cars and riding his Harley.
Due to the Coronavirus restrictions, a private family service will be held with burial in Bremen Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held at a later date.
