Mentone Man Faces Charges After Stabbing Man’s Hand
WARSAW — A Mentone man is facing charges after he allegedly stabbed another man’s hand.
Vincent Michael Carnegie, 30, 4961 S. Mallard Road, Mentone, is charged with domestic battery with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; and domestic battery with moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on April 1, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s officer was dispatched to Kosciusko Community Hospital in reference to report of a stabbing.
The officer spoke with the victim, who said Carnegie stabbed him in the hand. The officer noted that the victim had received several stitches to close the deep cut.
The victim said he was messaging Carnegie’s girlfriend on his iPod and that Carnegie became irate and stabbed him.
Deputies from KCSO spoke with Carnegie, who said he was trying to stab the man’s iPod but cut the man’s hand instead. Carnegie provided the deputies with the knife used in the stabbing. Deputies saw a crushed iPod on the ground. Carnegie said the iPod belonged to the victim.
Carnegie was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail April 1 on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
