Friday Morning Snowfall Could Briefly Accumulate, NWS Says
WARSAW — Brace yourself – there’s a chance of accumulating snow Friday morning in Kosciusko County.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service office in Northern Indiana that is in effect from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 17.
Snow accumulations of between 3-5 inches are expected throughout portions of Northern Indiana and Northwest Ohio. This includes Kosciusko County.
Locally, the weather service predicts 1-3 inches could fall in Kosciusko County.
Snow will develop late Thursday night and persist into Friday morning. The snow may be heavy at times, especially north of Route 24. Rain may mix with the snow south of Route 24, potentially limiting snow amounts.
Exactly how much snow accumulates locally will depend on the temperature. The overnight low Thursday is expected to be around 32 and the high Friday will be 41. Rain later in the day on Friday is expected to wash away any accumulations as temperatures rise.
Slippery road conditions are expected, which may impact the Friday morning commute.
