SIDNEY – The town of Sidney’s newest clerk-treasurer has resigned.
Lydia Neal informed Kosciusko County Republican chairman Mike Ragan on Sunday, May 10, that she was resigning effective immediately.
Neal was appointed Feb. 26 and was the third clerk-treasurer to resign this year.
The announcement comes ahead of the town council’s regular monthly meeting set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 11.
Neal replaced Etta Hurd, who had been appointed as clerk-treasurer in January but resigned just a few weeks later because of personal issues.
Hurd had been appointed to replace Lana Wolfe, a longtime clerk-treasurer of the town who was one of two council members to resign in January.
Lana Wolfe and town council member Rickey Bradley were forced to resign after it was determined neither had not been legally elected or appointed to the positions.
Brandon Allen was appointed to Sidney Town Council last week by Kosciusko County Democrat Party Chairman Brian Smith. Monday’s meeting will be his first.
He replaces Jack Wolfe, the town council president, who resigned in April.
Jack Wolfe is the husband of Lana Wolfe.
Other council members are Sharon Rancourt and Gavin Parrett.
