Robert ‘Bob” Messner
Robert L. “Bob” Messner, 87, Goshen, died at 5 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2020, at his residence. He was born Jan. 27, 1933, in Nappanee to Earl and Betty (Tucker) Messner.
Mr. Messner lived his lifetime in this area. His first marriage was to Virginia Heckaman, she preceded him in death. His second marriage was to Pearl Adams Pletcher, who preceded in death. He then married Hazel Kelley, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Messner was a farmer. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 154 in Nappanee. He was a member of the Goshen Church of Christ. Bob enjoyed traveling, camping and reading. He enjoyed working with animals on his dairy farm.
Surviving are his daughters, Beth Messner, Muncie, Marcia Messner, Goshen; granddaughters, Tiffany Messner and Toni Messner-Terry, both of Goshen; grandsons, Sylas and Simon Terry, both of Goshen; sister, Helen Hoff, Elkhart; and brother, James Messner, Bakersfield, Calif.
Family and friends may call from noon-2 p.m.,, Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, following COVID-19 gathering restrictions. Private Services will follow. Rev. Brad Price will officiate and burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
