Grace’s Hill Has A Plan, And An Award
Press Release
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Grace volleyball star Alexa Hill added one more honor to her illustrious career on Thursday.
Hill was named the winner of the 2020 NCCAA Game Plan 4 LIFE Award. The award is given to one male and one female student-athlete across all sports who epitomizes the Christian character qualities of love, integrity, faith and excellence.
Hill graduated from Grace as one of the most decorated players in team history. She became a two-time winner of the NCCAA Susan R. Hellings Award in December, the first two-time winner in NCCAA history.
She graduated second all-time in career assists with 4,537 assists and added 1,361 career digs. She was a three-time First Team All-League honoree and was an NCCAA All-American in 2019 (Third Team) and 2017 (First Team). Additionally she was an honorable mention for NAIA All-American in 2017.
“Alexa’s drive and commitment to excellence have been demonstrated in her many athletic accomplishments,” said Grace head coach Katie Van Hofwegen. “And while we are so proud of all that she has accomplished athletically, her true legacy to our program will be the way she relied on her faith and led others to the cross during some of the most challenging times of her life.”
In the classroom, Hill also excelled. She was named Grace’s Outstanding Prospective Teacher for elementary education earlier this month.
The Lady Lancers won 17 matches this fall and finished 10-8 in the Crossroads League, advancing to the semifinals of the league tournament.
