Nappanee Pair Injured In Rochester Crash Saturday

ROCHESTER — Mark Blessing, 47, Nappanee, and a passenger on his motorcycle, Marri Hacker, 54, also of Nappanee, were flown from an accident scene near Rochester to South Bend Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries.
The accident occurred at 4:42 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at US 31 and SR 110, near Rochester.
Fulton County Sheriff’s officers report a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Scott Bryant, 31, Rochester, was eastbound on SR 110. Bryant stopped his vehicle in the median to await traffic before proceeding east, across the northbound lane of traffic. Bryant failed to see the motorcycle driven by Blessing.
Bryant’s vehicle struck the front of the motorcycle causing the motorcycle to go into the ditch on the northeast side of the intersection. Both Blessing and Hacker were ejected from the motorcycle as a result of the crash.
Assisting the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department at the scene were Rochester Police and Fire departments, Lutheran EMS, Samaritan, Lutheran Air, Marshall County Sheriff, Argos Fire and Fulton County 911.
