Baumgartner Earns Service Award
Staff Report
INDIANAPOLIS – While the head coaches often get the credit for the successes or failures of athletic programs, it takes the people behind the scenes and within the program to make the engine go.
One of the integral parts of the Warsaw Tiger football program has been Dave Baumgartner. While not a head coach for the varsity Tigers, Baumgartner has been associated with Warsaw football for decades, and was recently honored with an according award.
Baumgartner was the 2020 recipient of the Tom Kelly Memorial Award presented by the Indiana Football Coaches Association.
The award is given annually to someone who exhibits excellence in service and contribution to the Indiana Football Coaches Association as well as strides made in the use of technology in the coaching profession.
Baumgartner has both coached and assisted in the Warsaw system, most recently serving in the press box on game days.
