James Rautenkranz
James Rautenkranz, 63, of Claypool, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 5:22 p.m., in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. James was born Oct. 8, 1956, in Huntington, to John and Phyllis (Cook) Rautenkranz. He was united in marriage to Virginia Fish on Sept. 20, 2003, in Warsaw.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for 23 years. He retired as a Master Sergeant. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for 25 years. He was employed for 12 years by the City of Warsaw Municipal Airport.
He is survived by his wife Virginia “Ginny” Rautenkranz of Claypool; children, Carrisa (Jason) Bruce of Huntington; Eric Rautenkranz of Denver, Colo.; Valerie Rautenkranz of Yakama, Wa.; Alex Anthony of Claypool; and Emily Slone of Warsaw. In addition, he is survived by siblings, Mike Rautenkranz of North Manchester, Ron Rautenkranz of Warsaw; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents.
A visitation for James will be held from 4-8 p.m., on Thursday, June 25, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, June 26, at the Funeral Chapel with Pastor J. P Freeman officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post 1126.
