Francis B. ‘Bud’ Bushell Jr.
Francis B. “Bud” Bushell Jr., 79, formerly of Columbia City, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Timbercrest Home of the Brethren, North Manchester, where he had been a resident since March 2019.
He was born on Sept. 17, 1940, in Providence, R.I., a son of the late Francis B. and Virginia Rose (Wood) Bushell. He spent his formative years in Cranston, R.I., and graduated from Cranston East High School in 1958.
In 1959 he entered the U.S. Air Force and served 20 years working with computers.
After he retired from the Air Force, he joined Ingersoll Rand in Hudson, N.H., working with their IT Department retiring with 15 years of service.
On May 9, 1978, he married Margie S. Heston. They made their home in Omaha, Neb., then to Hudson, N.H. In April of 2006, they moved to Columbia City to be closer to family. Margie died on Sept. 19, 2018.
He was a member of the Columbia City Church of the Brethren.
Francis is survived by his daughter, Barbara Stenner of Warwick, R.I.; a son, Steven Bushell of Cambridge, Mass.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Janet Fortenberry of Cranston, R.I.; Robert (Robyn) Bushell of Warwick, R.I.; Donna (Ralph) DeBlasio of Cranston, R.I., and Kathleen (Kenneth) Conti of Warwick, R.I.
Additionally, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Bowen, and a brother, Michael Bushell.
In accordance with Bud’s wishes, there will be no services.
