Kosciusko County Reports Fourth COVID-19 Death; More Than 330 Recovered

WARSAW — Between noon Friday, July 3, and noon Monday, July 6, the Kosciusko County Health Department reported a total of 25 new COVID-19 cases. This brings the county’s total number of reported cases to 562, with four deaths.
The fourth death in Kosciusko County occurred on Tuesday, June 30 and was announced Friday, July 3.
Meanwhile, the Whitley County Health Department also reported its fifth COVID-19 death. The death occurred on Thursday, July 2. Whitley County has 92 positive cases and has administered 1,578 tests.
Currently, 334 Kosciusko County residents have recovered from COVID-19. Five cases are hospitalized active cases, with 219 cases classified as active. A “hospitalized active case” consists of any active cases that are currently or have been hospitalized at all during their illness. However, consistent with non-hospitalized cases, once their 21-day active period is completed, they are considered recovered.
Statewide, the latest posting on the Indiana State Department of Health website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 2,505.
The total positive number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 48,331. More than 526,000 Hoosiers have been tested for COVID-19.
Locally, Fulton County has 72 positive cases and Wabash County has 112 positive cases. Marshall County has 490 positive cases and Noble County has 482 positive cases. Elkhart County has 3,301 positive cases, which is up from 3,209 reported on Friday, July 3.
In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 5,180 positive cases; Allen County has 2,798 positive cases; and St. Joseph County has 1,964 positive cases.
Marion County, which includes Indianapolis, has the most cases in the state at 11,682, which is up from 11,542 reported on Friday, July 3.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 906,000 people in the United States have recovered from COVID-19.
