ROCHESTER — One person suffered possible serious injuries and eight others suffered minor injuries as a result of a two-vehicle crash on US 31 and SR 110, Rochester, at 6:06 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10.
The crash involved a passenger car and a recreational vehicle.
Kasey Javier, 32, Rochester, who was unconscious at the scene, was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital with possible head injuries. Her condition was unknown. A 5-year-old passenger in Javier’s vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Also injured was the driver of the RV, Paul Rothwell, 49, Zionsville, his wife, Tracy Rothwell, 49, and five children ranging in age from 9 to 14. They all suffered minor injuries.
The investigation by Fulton County Sheriff’s Officers said Javier’s 2004 Buick LeSabre was eastbound on SR 110, crossed the median proceeding east across the northbound lane of US 31. Javier then pulled into the path of the Rothwell, 2021 Sunseeker RV. Javier’s vehicle struck the Sunseeker causing it to overturn and collide with a traffic control pole in the northeast part of the intersection. The Javier vehicle then continued in a northeasterly direction hitting a utility pole before it came to rest in a ditch.
Assisting the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation was Rochester Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Indiana State Police, Indiana Conservation and Indiana Department of Transportation.
The investigation is ongoing.
