Update: Moped Driver Struck Debris Along US 30 Shoulder
PIERCETON – The driver of a moped traveling west along US 30 was injured Friday morning, Aug. 14, after he struck some debris, according to police.
Stevie Dewayne Jefferson, 54, Pierceton, struck debris on the shoulder and lost control of the motor scooter, a statement from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office said.
The accident happened at 10:07 a.m. near Van Ness Road west of Pierceton.
Jefferson sustained serious injuries and was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne by Lutheran EMS.
Other agencies responding to the accident included Pierceton fire and police and TRi-County EMS.
