Mary Jane Buchan, 82, of Warsaw, passed at 9:57 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020 in the Warsaw Meadows Care Center.

She was born on Feb. 26, 1938, in Fort Wayne, to the late Ralph Hoover and Lana Ilo (McBride) Porter. She married on May 1, 1965, in Fort Wayne, to Thomas E. Buchan until 1979. She then shared her life with her companions James E. Scott and Tommy Minear, who are both preceded.

She had worked for Lincoln National Life Insurance of Fort Wayne and her first retirement was from Warsaw Community School Corporation, working at McKinley, Lincoln, and Jefferson, Madison, and lastly Washington, in 1992. She then retired on Dec. 28, 2006, from Big Lots of Warsaw. She also operated the Tigger’s Den Ceramic Shop out of her home.

She was a graduate of Huntertown High School in 1956. She was a member of the Moose, Eagles, VFW Post 1126, and the American Legion all of Warsaw. She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion of Riverton, Wyoming and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid user of Citizen Band Radio. Her CB call sign was the “Warsaw Rebel”. She also enjoyed spending time on her computer playing Farmville. Mary Jane as well as her family greatly appreciated the care that she received from Heart to Heart Hospice.

She is survived by her daughters Deb and husband Andrew O’Connell of Mentone and Denise Keller and companion William Federle of Winona Lake; grandchildren Madison O’Connell, Brayden Keller, and Brenden Federle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother John D. Porter, and sister Alice Ramsey.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23, at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, with Rev. Steven Wendler officiating.

The interment will follow the service in the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Indiana.

Visitation hours will be 1-2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
