Former Video World Property Getting A Facelift
WARSAW — The former Video World, 970 N. Lake St., Warsaw, which has sat vacant for decades, is receiving a facelift after it was recently purchased.
Two Guys & Tool Inc., Winona Lake, bought the property in July. According to Hunter Carlile, president, the company plans on remodeling the building and reselling the property. Currently, remodeling plans include a new roof and clean-up of the inside, among other things.
The Kosciusko County Area Plan Department has put a notification up stating that the property is in violation of the Kosciusko County zoning ordinance. Matt Sandy, the assistant county planner, noted that since the work appeared to be changing the pitch of the roof, setback variances may be required. This would involve going before the Kosciusko Board of Zoning Appeals.
Once the full construction plans are reviewed with the planning department and any required variances are secured, construction can continue.
“Its good to see someone doing something with the building, we just need to get them legal,” said Sandy.
According to Beacon, the property has changed hands several times within the last decade, with the previous sale occurring in 2018.
The property first appears on county records in 1989 and existed for several years as a popular video rental store.
