WARSAW — A Warsaw man is facing a child pornography charge after it was discovered he had inappropriate internet conversations with underage girls and possessed porn involving underage girls.
Christopher Michael Carson, 32, 542 Clinic Court, Warsaw, is being charged with possession of child pornography, a level 6 felony and false informing, a class B misdemeanor.
On Aug. 26, an officer with Warsaw Police Department received a call regarding someone hacking into a computer. Carson told the officer that someone had hacked into his Skype account and was messaging an underage girl. Carson stated that he was now being accused of pedophilia and wanted to know what his options were.
Two officers arrived at Carson’s residence to discuss the issue further. Carson once again told officers that his account had been hacked. He said that an underage girl had sent him nude pictures but that he did not send a single thing. According to Carson, the hacker sent an old photograph of Carson from his Facebook account.
When officers reviewed the messages on Caron’s phone, they discovered that the conversation began on Aug. 26. During the conversation, the girl confirms her age and Carson confirms his. Photographs are exchanged and an inappropriate video is sent. In the messages, Carson replied that he was unable to view the video on his phone, and needed to transfer them to his laptop.
Carson then allows the officers to look at his laptop. There they find that the inappropriate conversation with the underage girl continues, and it shows that the video has been viewed.
Both electronic devices were then taken by Warsaw police for forensic analysis.
After downloading the contents from Carson’s devices, officers discover a “long chat history” with the original girl along with inappropriate conversations with two other underage girls.
While continuing the search, the officer found several pornographic images that appeared to depict children under the age of 18.
On Aug. 27, Carson went to the police department for an interview regarding the found evidence. During the interview, he initially denied being responsible for the conversations and stated that a friend had used his computer. After the officer reviewed the information with him, Carson admitted that he was responsible for the conversations and child pornography found on his devices.
Carson was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 27, with a bond of $5,250 surety and cash.
