Controlled Purchase In Front Of A Minor Leads To Charges
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman is facing charges after a controlled purchase of methamphetamine and Oxycodone.
Alysha Noelle Cook, 28, 2610 E. Patterson Road, Warsaw, is charged with dealing in methamphetamine enhancement child under 18 present, a level 3 felony; and dealing in methamphetamine enhancement child under 18 present, a level 5 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, in March, the NET43 Drug Task Force was contacted by the Marshall County Narcotics Unit who advised they had a NET43 confidential informant who could make a purchase of methamphetamine from Cook as well as Oxycodone, a narcotic drug, from a man who is believed to reside at Cook’s residence.
The informant was outfitted with an audio and video recording device and provided with documented NET43 money for the controlled purchase.
Upon arrival at the residence, the informant met with both Cook and the man at the residence. Cook provided the informant with methamphetamine and the man provided the informant with six Oxycodone pills.
The informant then handed Cook the documented NET43 funds, left the residence and met with investigators at the post-buy location where the informant surrendered the drugs purchased.
The methamphetamine weighed 3.36 grams and the Oxycodone weighed approximately .76 grams. Surveillance footage positively identified Cook and the man at the residence.
An unidentified child who was clearly under the age of 18 years was observed in the surveillance footage and was present during the controlled purchase.
The man at the residence is heard on the recording of the controlled purchase stating that Cook has dependent children.
Cook was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail Sept. 22 on a $20,250 surety and cash bond.
