Daryle Smith Sr.

Daryle L. Smith Sr., 50, Syracuse, passed away at 10:56 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at Goshen Hospital.

He was born on Feb. 17, 1970, in Boston, MA., to David Steel & Velma Smith.

He grew up in Alabama, graduated in 1989 from Dallas County High School in Plantersville, Ala. and was a United States Air Force veteran. He lived in Georgia before moving to Syracuse in 1999 and was married on May 29, 2002, in Warsaw  to Erin S. Alfrey who survives.

He was employed at Veada Industries in New Paris and formerly worked at A.I.A. in Syracuse. He formerly attended Bethel Baptist Church in Pierceton.

He is survived by: his wife, Erin Smith, Syracuse; three sons: Daryle Smith Jr., Goshen, and Brandon and Noah Smith, both of Syracuse; two granddaughters; his father, David Steele, North Carolina; sister, Christina Patterson, Washington, D.C.; and two brothers: Charles Smith and Robert Smith, both of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents and nephew.

Visitation will be from 4– 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Cremation will follow at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw.
