Champions Lead All-NLC Tennis Grid

GOSHEN – The deed was simple. Win the Northern Lakes Conference tennis bracket, earn All-Conference.
Seven individuals did just that, and were joined by three more selections to the First Team as well as seven Honorable Mention choices the conference announced Saturday after the conclusion of the Northern Lakes Conference Boys Tennis Championships.
Singles champions Ben Vincent of NorthWood and the Goshen pair of Carlos Lichty and Moses Sawatzky led the way, joined by Concord’s Bryson Schrock, Goshen’s Pi Wellington and Northridge’s Brendan LeCounte.
The Northridge doubles team of Aaron Cripe and Evan Nay as well as Concord’s Thomas Burkert and Brayden Newburn were also All-NLC.
Honorable Mention nods went to Concord’s Nathan Schraw and Gavin Smith, NorthWood’s Treyton Martin and Gage Gongwer, Northridge’s Grant Martin, Plymouth’s Drew Harrell and Wawasee’s Holden Babb.
Concord won the round robin title after going 7-0, but Northridge earned a split of the pie with a 47-45 edge on Concord in the tournament.
