Update to Friday Afternoon Accident
SYRACUSE — An accident Friday afternoon at the intersection of CR 29 and CR 52 in Elkhart County resulted in an injury to one driver transported by to Parkview Hospital via Samaritan air ambulance and other being cited for disregarding a stop sign.
The accident, which occurred at 3:03 p.m., involved a southbound 2004 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Dannielle Fox, 22, Cromwell. As Fox approached the intersection, a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 truck driven by Kevin Miller, 18, Shipshewana, disregarded a stop sign for westbound traffic and collided with the driver’s side of the Chevrolet. Both vehicles ran off the southwest corner of the intersection, through a picket fence and into a cemetery.
Miller, who did not sustain any injuries, was cited for disregarding a stop sign. Fox was transported to Parkview Hospital with complaints of pain to her hip and neck.
Multiple agencies responded to the call, including Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, Turkey Creek EMS, New Paris Fire Department, Goshen EMS, Jackson Township EMS and Parkview Samaritan Medical Transport.
