Returning Absentee Ballots:
Indiana Law allows voters to return their ballots by mail and in person to the County Election Board. Ballots are not allowed to be placed in a drop box and are not allowed to be personally delivered by anyone other than the voter or a member of the voter’s household. If a ballot is personally delivered to the County Election board by a member of the voter’s household, a state form must be completed in the office of the County Clerk.
A voter may surrender their ballot at the polling location; the voter will then proceed to vote on a voting machine, the absentee ballot will NOT be counted. A person cannot surrender the ballot of a member of their household to the inspector at the polling location, only the voter. Any ballot surrendered at the polling location will NOT be counted.
Absentee ballots must be in the possession of the County Election Board no later than noon, Nov. 3, 2020.
