Triton Declining On 2021 HOF Ceremony
The Triton High School Athletic Department, in conjunction with the Triton Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee, has decided that it is in the best interest to cancel this year’s Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.
With the uncertainty due to COVID-19, and for the longevity and sustainability of providing an athletic hall of fame that year in and year out inducts candidates that performed at a level of excellence, the committee feels that a one year break is needed.
The Triton Athletic Hall of Fame began as a vision of athletic director Mason McIntyre, to recognize some of Triton High School’s finest student athletes, coaches, and contributors. The past 55 years at Triton High School have provided innumerable celebrations of noted accomplishment and lasting memory. The Hall of Fame provides a similar special opportunity to recognize the contributions of coaches, student athletes, and contributors.
The Hall of Fame’s inaugural class was inducted in February of 2011 at the Matchett Center in Bourbon. Over the last decade, the Triton Athletic Hall of Fame has inducted 12 contributors, nine coaches, 26 athletes and one team.
The Triton Hall of Fame looks forward to inducting a new class in February of 2022.
