Man Gets Suspended Sentence After Wife Convicted Of Dealing

WARSAW — A Warsaw man received a suspended sentence after NET43 officers discovered an ounce of methamphetamine in his home.
Troy Douglas Howard, 53, 8280 E. US 30, Warsaw, was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a level 6 felony. Dealing in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Howard was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court on Thursday, Oct. 8.
On Aug. 15, 2019, a search warrant was executed at 8280 E. US 30, Lot 52, Pierceton, by NET 43. Officers found an ounce of methamphetamine inside the residence, resulting in the arrests of both Troy and Mary Jean Howard. On that same date, the NET43 Drug Task Force made a controlled purchase of 14 grams of methamphetamine from Mary Jean.
Howard’s wife, Mary Jean Howard was sentenced on June 29 to a 13-year prison sentence, with six years suspended on formal probation, for dealing in methamphetamine.
For maintaining a common nuisance, Troy received a 1 1/2 year jail sentence. The sentence was suspended on formal probation and will also be served consecutively to a probation violation matter in Kosciusko Superior Court 3.
Troy also has 68 days of jail time credit.
