Leesburg Man Killed In Minnesota Crash, Three Others From Indiana Injured

MINNEAPOLIS — A Leesburg man died Saturday morning, Oct. 10, in a single-vehicle accident in Clay County, Minnesota, according to a Minnesota newspaper.
Three other men in the vehicle were injured.
Clay County is in west-central Minnesota near the North Dakota state line.
According to information in an article published by the Star Tribune, David A. Smoker, 59, of Leesburg, was a passenger in a 2015 Ford pickup that veered off the westbound lane of I-94 near Hwy. 34 in Humboldt Township at 8:16 a.m. Saturday and hit a bridge pier head-on, the state patrol said.
He died at the scene.
The driver of the pickup, Brian K. Smoker, 61, also of Leesburg, suffered noncritical injuries. Passenger George E. Tubbs, 63, of Leesburg, also suffered noncritical injuries.
A third passenger, Mitchell E. Garrison, 63, of Anderson, suffered critical injuries. Brian Smoker, Tubbs and Garrison were taken to a Moorhead hospital.
All involved were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor, the patrol said.
